This week I went back & made an oldie, but goodie rather than doing the assigned recipe. I needed a treat to take to a little social & I needed to use up from strawberries, so I decided to make Dorie's quatre-quarts again.
This time around I doubled the recipe, baked it in a 13x9-inch pan, and then cut the cake up into 2-inch squares. I made a little fresh whipped cream and stuck a strawberry slice on top of each little piece of cake and it was a hit.
