Cauliflower Gratin - French Fridays with Dorie

This week I chose to rewind & try a recipe that I missed ... cauliflower gratin.  We had ours for dinner with a big salad and some bread and it was well received by all.  It was more egg-y than I expected, so I thought it might be perfect for brunch or breakfast party.

I decided to make mine without the bacon, but I can see how bacon would be a very nice addition to this recipe!

Happy Friday to all!

P.S. What yummy food will you be enjoying this Super Bowl weekend?  Go Steelers!! :)

Very pretty - definitely you should try this again with the bacon. This was a favorite in our house.

Yep, the bacon was a great addition to this recipe, even though your looks tasty. No wonder Dr. J does not seem excited about the Superbowl...Go Steelers? Sounds good to me. and you would like today's quiche...maybe in a milder version for the kiddies.

Yes, you could do cheddar with mushrooms and onions, or pepperjack with peppers and low moisture tomatoes. I liked the apple and apple goes well with onion and cheddar. I think you would like the idea of "quiche" at your house and any veges that are not to watery would work...spinach, potatoes,...anything that the kiddies would like in an omelet.

Yum! I have a big head of cauliflower in the fridge. I'll have to look into that recipe as it's one I had missed earlier. Glad you had success.

We loved the cauliflower gratin and loved this week's quiche too.

This has become a favorite in our house, but I may have overdosed on the almost double batch I made a few months ago. and yes, the bacon is great. Also, it works well with other steamed veggies.

This was one of my favorites. I used bacon, but I'm sure it was good without.
Go Steelers? I'm from New England and say Go Pats! I'll be eating chili, though I have to admit, I probably won't actually watch the game. I just don't get football.

Try it again with the bacon - it's delish! Rewinds are fun, I'm doing one today with the Marie Helene Apple cake. Have a great week!
